Vince I. Porter, CPA - Personal Profile

Vince Porter graduated from Texas State University at San Marcos with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting and Finance. After several years as a tax associate for a large accounting firm, he joined the firm of Porter & Company, CPAs in 2005 and quickly became President and CEO after his father’s retirement from the practice soon thereafter.

Vince Porter holds a Certified Public Accounting certificate from the state of Texas. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

His interests include community events and spending time with his wife Heather, their five children and menagerie of animals (a terrier named Clover, guinea pig named Buckeye, bearded dragon named Luci, bears, tigers and lions oh my). Vince is an avid hunter, fisherman, cyclist, and triathlete, in addition to following both college and professional sports. With a freshman starting at A&M in the fall of 2020 we are sure to become big Aggies, Whoop!

Each year, CPA Practice Advisor recognizes professionals who are under 40 and are emerging as future leaders in the profession. The 40 Under 40 Awards highlight the top practicing public accountants, educators, and thought leaders who are changing the accounting profession through exemplary leadership, innovative thinking, collaborative efforts to provide unity in the profession across generations, and community outreach which expands the visibility of the profession outside of the workplace.

In 2018, Vince Porter has been named as one of the top 40 CPAs under 40. Vince has been the President and CEO of Porter & Company CPAs since 2008. In that time, he has expanded the firm from a small 2-person organization in Arlington, Texas to a 7-person organization with multiple offices in the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex. He has spearheaded the revenue growth by 400% in that time.

Vince has used his experience as a CPA and small business owner to work with the Community Storehouse in Keller, Texas as a board of directors and finance committee member. Vince is honored to be recognized as a leader in the profession and is enthusiastic to continue toward the goal of making the accounting profession a better place by sharing his ideas, skills, and passion.

Monica Hargrove

Client Service Associate

Monica is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting. She joined the firm in 2007 where she has served clients in a variety of services and roles. Monica has two children with her husband Chase. She is an avid Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Stars fan

Alexceia Smith

Project Coordinator

Alexceia is a graduate of National American University. Before joining Porter & Company in 2014, she worked with young children as a lead classroom instructor. Alexceia is originally from Virginia. Her husband's position brought her and her 2 daughters to Texas. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her daughters.

Sangeetha Iyyapillai

Associate

Sangeetha joined the firm in August 2018. She graduated in India with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Sangeetha has 13 years of experience in helping clients with taxes, payroll, and accounting. Sangeetha enjoys watching movies with her family, cooking, and watching Indian cricket.

Sisen Matthew

Associate

Sisen Joined the firm in March 2020. She holds her master’s degree in international business from India and bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oman. At present, she is working towards her M. S. Degree in Accounting and Taxation. Before joining our team, she worked as an Accountant in another public accounting firm. She loves to travel and enjoys spending time with her friends and family watching shows/movies. Sisen also enjoys cooking and occasional painting.

Faisal Said

Director of Compliance at P&C

Faisal rejoined the firm and is now Director of Compliance at P&C. He is a Cowboys and Mavericks fan and loves to read, play chess, and spend time with his family. Faisal has a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas – go comets!! We are so excited to have Faisal on our team.

Melissa Barnes

Compliance Analyst

Melissa is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, with a concentration in Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination. Melissa joined the firm in June 2022. Before joining our team, she worked as a Compliance Analyst in the financial service industry and bookkeeper for a real estate firm. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and volunteering.

Bree Dyer

Associate

Bree is our newest member of the firm, joining in October of 2022. Bree is a graduate from Oklahoma State University – go pokes! From there she was a classroom teacher for 5 years until joining the firm. Bree enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family/friends. She also enjoys being outdoors with her sweet pup – Murphy.
